Vrtec Vrhnika is a public kindergarten that provides care and education for 650 children, aged 1-6. Educators focus on teaching children how to take care of the world they live in. Over the years, we have implemented different sustainable practices. We use eco-friendly cloth diapers, recycle, avoid single-use plastics, buy food items in bulk, use organic cleaning supplies, compost vegetable and fruit scraps, provide children with partly organic meals, grow our own produce in the school garden, raise chickens and ducks, and follow the zero-waste guidelines of our municipality.

Our teachers and school management are highly motivated to participate in various national and international projects. We are interested in new methods that will help us motivate learning through play, develop new sustainable practices, and support the life-long learning of our educators.
